Previously Wal-Mart had been selling three 24-shot roll packs of Kodak 200 film. Most of the film I have bought for our infrequent outings when we take our 35 mm film cameras out for a walk have expired.
(NOTE: This story was originally written 2024-08-16. The film is now selling in the $23 range!)
There is a coded square stuck on one end that will guide those with a SuperPhone to photofinishing for the roll. I checked one local place and they wanted $11 to develop the roll and something around $7 to scan the negatives if you supply the memory stick. It costs more if they supply the memory stick. That would put the cost of shooting 35 mm at around a $1 a shot.
The bottom of the box is covered with small print. Thank goodness it is in English, French and Spanish. Most of the warnings are about liability (Fuji will at best replace the roll), colour change (No responsibility), conditions to avoid (heat, humidity and X-rays) and you should process the film promptly after exposure.
